Safety

Safety is a core company value. We do not accept acts that could harm an individual or the environment.

Golden Rules

Please follow the S. Norton Golden Rules at all times when on our sites:

For vehicles
For pedestrians
PPE

As stated in the Golden Rules, wearing PPE is mandatory at all our sites. As a minimum you must wear hard hat, high vis jacket/vest, safety glasses and safety boots.

Batteries

Batteries mixed in with waste pose a serious risk of explosion and fire. All batteries must be segregated from waste metal. We do accept batteries but they must be separated. Please enquire for details about the types of batteries accepted.

End of Life Vehicles (ELV)

As an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), we accept end-of-life vehicles at our Liverpool and Manchester sites, and de-polluted vehicles at our Glasgow sites. We do not accept electric/hybrid vehicles.

For health and safety reasons, if you are delivering a vehicle to any of our sites, YOU MUST NOT unstrap it until you reach your designated unloading area.

Smoking/vaping

No Smoking on site. Smoking/vaping is only permitted in designated smoking areas.

Contractors

Contractors visiting our sites must complete a contractor induction and supply RAMS in advance for any work to be undertaken. You can find the contractor induction here

Visitors

All visitors including Contractors must sign-in on arrival using the sign-in books or clocking terminals at Site Receptions/Entrance halls.

Children and young people under the age of 18 are not permitted on site.

No pets allowed.
